Grenco G Pen Elite Review

For many vapers, the Grenco G Pen Elite is the crowning achievement in vaporization technology and user-friendliness. It is a wonderfully compact and beautifully designed little unit, and it fits perfectly in the hand with an ergonomic design that is a genuine joy to use.

G Pen Elite Features

At just 88 grams, you would expect the device only to be capable of holding a small amount of herb. However, during the course of our G Pen Elite review, we were blown away to find out it could hold a whopping 0.75 grams. Also, the temperature range can be adjusted between 200 and 428 degrees Fahrenheit (93 – 200 degrees Celsius) and is programmable down to a single degree. This is a critically important feature as proper vape temperature is one of (if not THE) single most important aspect of effective vaping.

We were also astounded by the unit’s lightning fast warm-up time, as our review team found that the Grenco Science G Pen Elite took less than 30 seconds to warm up to a temp of 400 degrees Fahrenheit. There are two buttons to the right of the screen that you can use to raise or lower the temperature, and they couldn’t be any easier or more convenient to use. Also, these buttons don’t feel cheap and the LED display is exceedingly sharp with minimal pixel issues.

The reason why the device heats up so quickly is that a new 360-degree ceramic heating element has been implemented for 2018 models of the G Pen Elite, which provides fast heating throughout the chamber. While the company claims that it is a convection unit, it actually seems to have some conductive properties just based off of what we were witnessing firsthand.

Moreover, at 0.75 grams the G Pen Elite’s fully ceramic chamber was the largest on the portable vaporizer market, at least when it was initially released. In terms of how to clean the G Pen Elite, it’s recommended that you use the cleaning brush after every vaping session, but in all honesty, you probably don’t have to use it every time. Simply brush off residual material around the mouthpiece’s connection (and over its filter screen), and make sure to pre-heat the device beforehand as it makes cleaning the tar and residue buildup much easier.

The Grenco G Pen Elite uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which gives you at least one hour’s worth of vaping on a full charge. It takes approximately three hours to charge the battery completely and the device charges via a standard mini USB which of course is super convenient. (However, unlike Arizer’s vape models, you can’t swap the batteries).

How to Use the Grenco G Pen Elite

There are few portable vaporizers on the market that are as easy to use as the G Pen Elite. It is a good idea to register the device on the product’s website before use and enter its serial number in order to activate the warranty.

Once the device is fully charged (it’s recommended to charge the Elite for three hours before your first use), you simply use one hand to remove the mouthpiece while holding the body with your other hand. When you pull the mouthpiece off, expose the ceramic chamber and fill it with dry herb, then place the mouthpiece back on top. Next, press the power button five times – the LED light should switch on and show the current temperature. (You can use the side buttons to adjust the temp as desired, and then press & hold for one second to set it in place). Within 30 seconds, the chamber should have reached your preset temperature, at which point you can relax and vape till your heart’s content.

Vapor Quality

The design of the ceramic chamber in the Grenco G Pen Elite means the herb remains in constant contact with the heat. It might take a few burn-offs to remove the manufacturer smell and “new vape” taste, but once this is all gone the vapor path is fairly efficient. We found that long and slow draws at around 375 degrees Fahrenheit, for example, led to the best quality vapor. Also, you’ll find that the device remains cool to the touch, even after a couple minutes worth of continuous vaping.

Grenco Science G Pen Elite Review: Overall Thoughts

There are many excellent features on the G Pen Elite. For one, it is about as portable as you can get, yet its diminutive size doesn’t prevent you from loading a LOT of herb into the chamber. Also, it heats up incredibly quickly which makes it ideal for impatient vapers. Another thing that is a pretty big bonus (well, depending on how you look at it), is that you can buy the G Pen Elite on eBay or Amazon for around $149.95. The full package includes the vaporizer, a G Card, a G Pen tool, a USB charging cable, and a cleaning brush.

Grenco G Pro Vaporizer Review

Before we even begin our G Pro Vaporizer review, we want to mention one stand out aspect of the device that was immediately noticeable; it looks exactly like an electric shaver! On a more relevant note, though, the Grenco G Pro is a more basic version of the Elite and while it lacks the stylish aesthetics of its bigger brother, the Pro has several excellent features and is significantly less expensive at $99.95.

Grenco G Pro: Features

The Grenco G Pro Vaporizer was clearly designed with new vapers in mind because it possesses one of the simplest interfaces we’ve come across. The kit includes the device, a grinder card (for grinding herb on the move), a packing tool, a charging cable, and a cleaning brush. While it is nice to have the extra grinder, we will say that it isn’t a particularly effective one and we would recommend purchasing a better, higher quality one for best results.

In terms of features, everything about the G Pro Vaporizer is basic. There are just three preset temperature levels:

Red: 320 degrees Fahrenheit.
Green: 380 degrees Fahrenheit.
Blue: 420 degrees Fahrenheit.

Also, it is immediately clear that the G Pro is not for experienced users, simply because you can’t benefit from precise temperature control. Additionally, the device contains a relatively small ceramic oven that holds just around 0.2 grams of dry herb.

Despite the fact that the G Pro is made primarily from plastic material, it is surprisingly durable; and it isn’t completely round which means it WON’T fall off the table! Also, it is hard to imagine the device being much easier to use, as it consists of a single button interface with a micro USB port at the bottom, and a comfortable, rubber mouthpiece.

The G Pro Vaporizer no doubt benefits from the remarkable technology used by Grenco Science, which means it can heat up from cold within a period of about 20 seconds — about the same time that it takes my trusty Toyota Corolla to go from 0 to 50 mph!

Moreover, the lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 1300mAh and we found that it was possible to get approximately 40 minutes worth of use from a full charge. Charge time is anywhere from 1-3 hours.

It is also important to note that the brand has teamed up with a variety of people from the music and fashion industries to create redesigned versions of the original Grenco G Pro. While this is admittedly pretty awesome, it does make it rather tricky to determine which G Pro vaporizer is the best model! One of the most famous examples is the Snoop Dogg G Pro, but these revamped models contain more or less the same features as the non-signature models.

How to Use the Grenco G Pro Vaporizer

To use the G Pro Vaporizer, first take off the mouthpiece to expose the ceramic oven. Next, load the dry herb into the oven and pack it; but not too tightly. If you pack it too densely, you will restrict airflow and impact vapor quality. Return the mouthpiece to its place and click the power button five times. It will begin heating automatically and you can select one of the three preset temperatures by holding the button down.

The LED lights start blinking when the device heats up, and it will become solid when it is time to vape. You get an indicator of the battery level by analyzing the number of lights switched on during a session. Begin your vaping session by pulling through on the mouthpiece. We recommend using the Green setting for best results.

Vapor Quality

For such a basic device, the G Pro vaporizer actually produces a reasonable cloud. We found that draw resistance was minimal on the Green setting, so it was an easy and natural vaping experience. Clearly, the device’s vapor quality doesn’t compare to the more expensive models but then again based on the price, you wouldn’t expect it to.

If you’re intent on enjoying a long session, begin at the lowest setting and rise to the medium temperature for a few minutes. We don’t recommend staying at the highest setting for too long because the unit gets a bit too hot.

Grenco G Pro Vaporizer Review: Overall Thoughts

For the price, we feel that the G Pro worked exceedingly well with an impressive heating up time. Also, it is incredibly easy to use and fits in your pocket pristinely, which makes it the perfect discreet option for all you newcomers who might be nervous about vaping bud out in public. And although the 0.2 gram chamber seems a bit small, it should actually be the ideal size for regular users, as not a lot of rookies will be vaping more than that in any one sitting.

Lastly, cleaning the unit is a breeze and is something that you’ll maybe only have to do once a week or so, depending on how heavily you use it. In the end, you’ll struggle to find a better portable vaporizer for under $100.

Grenco G Slim Review

One of the first things we noticed in our Grenco G Slim vaporizer review is that, you guessed it, the vaporizer is TINY! We knew it would be small, just not 21 grams and 0.3 inches thick small. We suppose that the G Slim is the type of vaporizer they would use in Lilliput if the place existed. In any regard the device has recently been upgraded with a quartz rod and borosilicate chamber, which has led to improved performance over past models.

One of the main benefits of the G Slim vaporizer is its near invisibility. Also, even though the device looks as if it could break at any moment, it is actually made with high-quality materials and thus is surprisingly durable. The heating process takes place in a tank made from ceramics and heat-resistant medical glass, which are both industrial grade materials.

The built-in heating element means the G Slim will warm up your ground flower within a few seconds. As you know, vaping is a big improvement on traditional smoking — while the latter has been known to destroy up to 80% of active substances through combustion, the advanced heating techniques of vaporizing ensures that you receive as close to 100% of the raw material as possible. In the end, this means that a little weed can go a long, LONG way.

One of the downsides in using something as small and discreet as the Grenco G Slim, though, is that there is no temperature control, which is a bummer if you’re trying to vape like a boss and customize your high. Also, the Lithium-ion battery has a 650 mAh capacity, which is significantly lower than other Grenco Science vaporizers. As a result, you won’t be able to get more than five sessions from a single charge, but that’s more than enough when you consider the size and power of the device.

How to Use the Grenco G Slim Vape

All you have to do is unscrew the silicone rubber mouthpiece, load your herb into the chamber, screw the mouthpiece back on, and hold the button to heat the herb as you vape. It heats the weed in a matter of seconds, so you get the benefit of near-instant hits.

Before your first use, though, make sure that you fully charge the battery. You can achieve this by unscrewing the tank from the battery and screwing it into the USB charger.

Vapor Quality

It should go without saying that the vapor quality of the G Slim doesn’t really compare to its larger counterparts like the G Pen and the G Pro. Nonetheless, the vapor quality is fine for what effectively is an electric pipe.

All in all, the Grenco G Slim Vape Pen offers exceptional value for the money, especially with the upgraded quartz version available for $24.95. It is easy to use and clean, and you can enjoy a hit within a few seconds of powering it up. Also, the aesthetically pleasing design is something to be noted, as is the discreetness of what the device actually is (in other words unless you’re actively using it, most people will have no idea that it’s paraphernalia for weed consumption).

Grenco G Pen Review

The Grenco G Pen vaporizer is where it all started for Grenco Science, and while it has updated the original design on several occasions, it is still primarily the same device that Chris Folkerts created all those years ago. While our G Pen vaporizer review disclosed the unfortunate fact that it is no longer a cutting-edge model in the grand scheme of things, we have no hesitations in saying that this is still an excellent, high-quality vaping device. If anything, the passage of time has only ensured it offers extraordinary value for the money.

Speaking of money, at the time of writing the G Pen vaporizer was on sale for $49.95. This not only includes the dual quartz coil upgrade, but you also get a G Tool, Wall Adaptor, two glass containers, three cleaning tips, and a G Pen wired USB Charger. In our opinion, that’s one of the best deals in the industry.

Features of the Grenco G Pen

The Grenco G Pen still has the gorgeous all-black design with a stainless-steel exterior. It does, however, seem somewhat outdated because of its relatively basic heating system (even if there’s a lot to be said for pressing a button and being ready to vape in seconds). Overall, it is an easy device to use because of the one-button interface, and it was clearly designed with beginners in mind.

Unlike Grenco’s latest models which have permanent heating chambers, though, the G Pen uses a dual quartz coil that needs to be replaced every 6-8 weeks. This is a potentially major inconvenience if you’re not akin to things like maintenance (and what stoner is?).

Also, the heating oven is extremely small and probably not large enough to satisfy experienced weed users. We were only able to extract a maximum of four draws from a full chamber, which isn’t enough unless you’re using a super potent strain.

On the plus side, though, you get a lot of “kit for your cash” including the handy spatula-like G Tool which does an excellent job of loading up the messy concentrate material. There are also a couple of glass containers that you can use for loading your favorite shatter or butter, and Grenco clearly states that the original G Pen is not intended for use with ground-up flower! However, there is a G Pen for dry herb available.

The charging dock on the G Pen allows you to charge your unit on any USB port, or via the usual outlet plug. The 900 mAh battery can last for up to two hours of continuous use, and it takes a couple of hours to charge a dead battery all the way up. Also, as the G Pen is roughly the size of a ballpoint pen, it is super easy to conceal.

Another interesting feature of the OG Grenco G Pen is its compatibility with both the ZEUS Bolt Grinder and the ZEUS Iceborn. The Bolt Grinder allows you to vaporize kief, or the ‘dust’ material that’s found in your grinder’s lower chamber. (In other words it ensures that you use every last piece of your weed, which should help you save money in the long run). All you have to do is collect the dust, add a small drop of water and create a little ball using your finger. The result is tiny dust balls that make for an exceptional experience when vaporized with the G Pen.

How to Use the G Pen Vaporizer

The Grenco G Pen is an ideal unit for beginners because there is no temperature control or settings to adjust. Remove the mouthpiece and you’ll see a small hole in the center of the opening. Hold the power button and you’ll see a small red light glowing, this is where you can put in your wax or concentrate.

After adding your mix, replace the mouthpiece and hold the button for up to four seconds. Start drawing slowly for best results. Once you’re finished using the device, press the power button five times to lock it. Otherwise, there’s a danger that it will begin to heat in your pocket! You can use the device again after pressing the button five more times.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality of the G Pen doesn’t compare favorably to the later Grenco models, although it does produce decent clouds for the price. If you want better vapor, you’ll want to consider investing in the ZEUS Iceborn as it is compatible with the G Pen and helps it produce larger clouds and cooler draws when connected to the vaporizer. It uses ice cooling rather than water filtration which means excellent efficiency and smooth, crisp draws.

Grenco G Pen Review: Overall Thoughts

When it was initially released, the G Pen was one of the kings of the hill. As time has passed, though, the device is looking increasingly dated. It does not allow for temperature control, for example, and the fact that you need to spend $14.95 every 6-8 weeks for a replacement coil is a major drawback that takes away some of the vaporizer’s value for the money.

Even so, the G Pen vaporizer still represents an excellent starter unit as it is relatively inexpensive and should help you decide if you prefer vaping over smoking. (You could also look at an upgrade such as the Snoop Dogg G Pen).

The Grenco G Pen Gio is the latest Grenco Science release, and it is something completely different. Industry experts have suggested that the Gio vaporizer is the future of cannabis oil, wax, and concentrates. The hype surrounding the new release began in July 2017 when Wiz Khalifa and Berner shared a video on Facebook using the futuristic-looking device, which pretty much caused the greater weed-loving internet community to go bonkers. Of course, then, when the Gio was finally unveiled to the masses at the 2017 Emerald Cup, it sold out in a matter of hours.

While the majority of vaporizers work with dry herb, the G Pen Gio runs on disposable oil cartridges. It comes with a micro USB charging cable and is available for just $29.95. As these are pre-filled, though, there is the irritating issue of marijuana laws to contend with. As a consequence, only residents of Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Illinois, Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Colorado are allowed to purchase the Gio at the time of writing.

The device is made from a zinc alloy which means it is exceedingly tough while the sleek, ergonomic design means it is far more aesthetically pleasing than its rivals in the market. It is approximately the size of an e-cigarette, which means it’s a winner in terms of portability.

The 180 mAh battery offers surprisingly long life – you can get around 100 or so puffs before it starts to drain, and the battery charges from completely dead to 100% in less than two hours. While this is impressive for a device this size, it still means you have to plan ahead when traveling.

There is no learning curve with the Grenco Gio, and using it really couldn’t be much easier. First of all, insert a G Pen cartridge into the battery and then inhale from the mouthpiece. That’s it!

We were very impressed by the clouds of vapor and the flavor! Jack Herer works really well with the Gio, and we’re sure that the majority of high-grade cannabis strains will taste great as well. As subtle as the device is, the large clouds of vapor mean you’ll have to be careful when vaping! Also, as heating is immediate, the Gio is perfect for anyone who needs to relax with a lightning fast hit. Further good news is that Grenco has partnered with various companies (such as Pistil Point and Evo Lab) which means more strains are forthcoming.

The Gio is an outstanding effort on the part of Grenco to get into the pre-filled oil cartridge industry. Due to its ergonomic design and outstanding adjustable temperature controls, the G Pen Elite is widely regarded as one of the finest dry herb vaporizers on the market. The G Pro is a good option for newcomers and it is also better for your bank balance. However, we believe that experienced users should pay the extra $50 because the additional options offered by the G Pen Elite make it a fantastic value-for-money vaporizer. While both are easy to load, the Elite has more than triple the maximum capacity and enables you to control the chamber’s temperature to a single degree, with a far wider range of temperatures to boot.

What About G Slim vs G Pen, or Maybe You Prefer Gio?

The famous G Pen was the first device created by Grenco Science, and there are options for users who want dry herb and for those who wish to use concentrate. As of now, either option costs less than $100, and thus they both are affordable choices for anyone looking to vape their weed. Despite its age, the Grenco G Pen is still as durable as newer portable vaporizers, but its one major downside is the fact that you have to replace the coils every 6-8 weeks.

The battery life of the G Pen gives you around 2 hours of vaping pleasure, and there is only one button to control the power and heating coil. If you wish to switch the unit off, click the power button five times and do the same thing to switch it on again. The vapor quality is mediocre until you pair it with the ZEUS Iceborn, at which point it becomes deliciously crisp and smooth.

The G Slim is a small, portable little device that costs less than $25 and fits in your pocket. It heats instantly and is perfect for users in need of a quick, private, discreet little puff. As small as it is, the G Slim is extremely tough and reliable. The battery life is fairly short and you’ll only get a few draws per session, which may be a disappointment for experienced users but should pose no problem to vaping newcomers.

Grenco G-Slim vs. G-Pen: Which Is Better?

The G-Slim is a good option if you travel a lot and need something to give you a quick and easy hit. However, the G-Pen offers longer battery life, better vapor quality, and enables you to consume more weed in a single sitting, which is a must if you’ll be sharing with friends or romantic acquaintances.

What About the Grenco Gio?

It is impossible to compare the Grenco Gio vaporizer to either the G Pen or G Slim, as it is an entirely different product. The Gio uses pre-filled cartridges which means it is only available in ten states currently. It weighs just 42 grams and fits in your pocket, and to use, you simply add a cartridge and start vaping (there is no heating up period to worry about).

The flavor and vapor from each cartridge are superb and you should be able to get at least 100 puffs per cartridge. There are also a host of wonderful flavors on offer including Biscotti, Lemon Poundcake, and Strawberry Shortcake.

Overall, the G Slim is good for traveling but we would say that the Gio is even better. The new device also has a greater capacity than the G Pen, and at just $29.95 it represents an incredible value for the money.

Why the Snoop Dogg G Pro Is so Popular

Hip-hop legend and everyone’s favorite marijuana lover, Snoop Dogg, has teamed up with Grenco Science to release his very own brand of G Pens – the ultimate Snoop Dogg Vaporizer. The G Pro, aka the Snoop Dogg Vape, is the most popular to date because it is remarkably easy to use and has three preset temperatures. It takes between 60 and 90 seconds for the herb to heat up properly, and while vapor quantity is low on the lowest temperature, it improves markedly as you increase the heat.

A fully charged battery lasts 90 minutes and takes three hours to charge when using the USB.
