Joseph Bender
Joe Bender is an independent crop consultant. He earned his B.S. in Horticultural Science from the University of Florida in December of 2009, and now he works with the company Cannabis Crop Solutions, LLC. After graduating, he started his first consulting company based in Summit Country, Colorado. Joe is an expert in cannabis cultivation, well-versed in horticulture, plant pathology, and etymology. He is also very familiar with tissue culture, facility automation, cannabis pharmacology, ingestion and inhalation methods, extraction techniques, cannabis manufacturing, potency testing, and cannabis history.
Joe’s job is important – he helps farmers overcome pest and disease problems with their crops and improves crop quality. Once, he even discovered that a light cycle issue was the case of a crop disorder. As an advisor, Joe was more than qualified to write an article on integrated pest management of thrips for the July 2011 issue of High Times. In August of 2014, Joe became the head grower of the Breakwater Treatment and Wellness operation in Cranbury, New Jersey. He earned the role after having meticulously planned the operation himself. Joe’s assistance helped to establish Breakwater as the highest quality
cannabis grow in New Jersey.
It was after he left Breakwater and returned to his home in Orlando, Florida, that he started up Cannabis Crop Solutions, LLC, in 2018. Joe lends his expertise often in articles, which have been published in Cannabis Culture, Weed World, and High Times. He also has a featured column in The Evolution, a cannabis magazine based out of Kansas City, Missouri. In his spare time, Joe enjoys golfing, playing guitar, skateboarding, surfing, snow skating, and spending time with his friends and family.
