Into the crowded CBD market steps a new competitor, one who promises to separate themselves from the rest with their glitz and glamour. Verge CBD is a new CBD company, launched by ‘Jersey Shore’ star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. He wants to give a little of his celebrity lifestyle to you while also doing you some good at the same time.
With CBD’s popularity ever-increasing, it was only a matter of time before celebrities decided to get involved. Ronnie may be one of the first, but he won’t be the last. Of course, how much you regard him as a celebrity will depend on your views of Jersey Shore and the cast in general. They have a habit of dividing opinion, to say the least.
If we can put aside the celeb involvement for a minute, how does Verge CBD actually stack up as a CBD provider? Are Jersey Shore haters potentially missing out on some real quality products? Or is Verge CBD better off being canceled early on?
Who Are Verge CBD?
Verge CBD is new to the CBD scene, launching early in 2019. Founded by Jersey Shore cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, the brand was always guaranteed some publicity due to his status. Ronnie probably wasn’t expecting the kind of publicity generated from the launch party, however. Following the launch party, founder Ronnie was arrested in the early hours of the morning for allegedly ‘striking’ his girlfriend. The story was, of course, picked up by multiple media outlets. Well, that is certainly one way of generating interest in your company!
Away from the celeb gossip, Verge CBD aims to offer the finest hemp CBD product available on the market. All its products are infused with CBD and made from natural, plant-based ingredients. The brand wants to provide individuals with alternative solutions.
Being a new company, Verge CBD doesn’t have the most extensive range of products at the moment. Their CBD offerings only number five different products at present. It often takes companies a while to build up their options, so we can be forgiving that Verge doesn’t yet have a vast amount of products on offer. We take a closer look at their products over the next few sections.
Verge CBD Full Spectrum CBD Gel Capsules
CBD capsules are one of the most basic forms of CBD, so it should come as no surprise that Verge offers them. Bottles are priced at $119.95 and contain 60 capsules. Each capsule has a CBD content of 15mg, giving a total of 900mg per bottle.
The pills are tasteless and easy to swallow. They provide a simple, efficient, and fuss-free way to get your CBD. The CBD is full-spectrum, offering potentially greater effects due to the interaction of additional cannabinoids, as opposed to CBD only.
These capsules are on the expensive side of the market, and to be honest, we can’t see anything that would suggest they are worth the extra expenditure. You will be able to find the same offering at a lower cost elsewhere.
Verge CBD Full Spectrum CBD Infused Oil
Along with capsules, oils are the other CBD basic that you expect brands to offer, and Verge CBD delivers in this department. Verge sells a bottle of oil with no additional flavoring for $99.95. The containers each contain a total of 750mg of CBD.
Verge’s tinctures are made with non-GMO certified terpenes and promise quick-acting results. Again, this is another form of CBD for those who want their goodness with minimum frills.
We have to say we are a little disappointed. The cost of this oil is high compared with other CBD brand offerings and doesn’t offer anything unique for the price. Come on, Ronnie! We at least want a little flavor in our CBD!
One definite plus point is the use of all-natural ingredients. This should be applauded and is not the case for all CBD oils.
Verge CBD Pain Relief Roll-On
Now we start to get to the more exciting areas of Verge’s range. CBD topicals aren’t anything new, but offering them in a roll-on form is more unusual. Verge provides this, and we think it is a great idea. A roll-on topical is a convenient and easy way of targeting your troublesome areas. It’s also perfect for on-the-go usage.
A bottle costs $54.95, or you can pay slightly extra for one containing absolutely zero THC at $59.95. If you don’t want to stump up the extra cash for the THC free option, don’t worry. The cheaper option contains minimal amounts of THC and will not get you high. It is also available in all 50 states in the US.
Whichever option you chose, you will get 250mg of CBD. Again, this is expensive (we’re noticing a trend here) for the amount of CBD you get, but at least it’s a more innovative product.
Verge CBD Tanning Lotion
Verge CBD Tanning Lotion sees the brand offering innovation to the CBD market in the most Jersey Shore way imaginable. We can’t remember seeing another brand offering tanning lotion infused with CBD, but it is a good idea. The CBD beauty market is one that is massively on the rise and this is an excellent addition.
A bottle will set you back $59.95, which might seem expensive for a tan, but you also get 250mg of CBD too. The lotion is ultra-hydrating, streak and stain-free, and offers color fade protection.
Verge says this item is for those looking to tan, tone, and chill. A great way to get red carpet ready and your CBD goodness at the same time. We fully expect CBD hair gel to follow shortly…
Final Thoughts on Verge CBD
Verge CBD is a new brand, and it is clear they are still finding their feet. Their range is currently limited and expensive when compared with other companies. There is hope for the future, though. Verge CBD Tanning Lotion hints at a more exciting offering from the company providing new CBD options we may not have come across before.
Jersey Shore stars know a thing or two about beauty products, and we hope the brand continues down this path. The CBD beauty market is one that is still in its infancy but looks set to have a healthy future. If Verge does focus more on this area, it could provide some real innovation and value to the CBD market.
Verge CBD is a brand we will keep an eye on and track their progress with interest.
