Ignite CBD Full Review
At present, 33 states plus D.C. have legalized medical marijuana, while 11 of these states plus D.C. have made weed legal recreationally. With so much focus on using THC to get you high and alleviate a variety of medical maladies, it is easy to forget that CBD also acts on the body’s endocannabinoid system. It is also legal in most states, with caveats.
Whether you live in a state where weed isn’t legal yet or prefer to enjoy healing without a high, CBD is a perfectly viable option. This explains why there are hundreds of companies selling CBD products.
There are oils, balms, capsules, edibles, and many more besides those that we’ve mentioned. Of the many CBD firms out there, few have made as big a splash as Ignite CBD. Having just launched in the UK in July 2019, Ignite are relatively new to the cannabidiol scene, but they are rising to the top incredibly fast.
Who Are Ignite CBD?
It is fair to say that Dan Bilzerian, the co-founder, and chairman of Ignite, knows how to make an impression. As well as showing outstanding business acumen, the entrepreneur has a natural flair for marketing, a gift which has served Ignite well. Bilzerian is nicknamed the ‘King of Instagram’ and served notice of the launch of 40 Ignite products in a fashion that Hugh Hefner would have been proud of.
He revealed the firm’s product line at his Bel Air mansion, and this level of attention has already paid dividends as Ignite’s products are flying off the shelves.
For the UK launch, Bilzerian threw an equally as eventful celebration. He spent more than £500,000 on the official launch party which included high profile Instagrammers such as Kendall Rae Knight and Pete Wicks.
As well as selling THC products in states where cannabis is legal, Ignite also specializes in an array of CBD products to both the American, and now the UK market, which contain a supposed zero percent THC.
Bilzerian is a professional poker player, but has his cannabis product gamble paid off? Read our review to find out.
Before we proceed, please note that Ignite is currently unable to ship any of its THC-containing products to states which do not permit the consumption of cannabis and its respective products. For this reason, Ignite actually has separate sites for its THC-containing and CBD based products. In this review, we focus upon the Ignite CBD brand.
Review of Ignite Disposable Vape Pens
The first thing to note is that Ignite’s CBD vape pen range won the prestigious High Times Cannabis Cup award in 2018 for ‘best CBD vape pen.’ So, suffice to say, we were pretty excited to try it. There are seven flavors available which claim to generate three entirely different experiences:
- Calm: Designed for relaxation, this vape pen option is ideal for unwinding at the end of a hard day at work. Available in Bubble Gum and Lavender flavors.
- Recharge: This is the vape pen option of choice for those in need of an energy boost. Use it in the morning or afternoon to invigorate the senses and to help enable you to hit peak performance. Available in Tangerine and Tropical Fruit Vape flavors.
- Lucid: With this vape pen, you can declutter your mind and focus on mentally challenging tasks. Available in Spearmint, Blood Orange, and Apple Berry.
All of the options cost $20 and contain natural hemp-derived CBD oil, natural essences, Stevia, and fractionated (MCT) coconut oil. As the Ignite CBD range claims to be free from THC, you don’t have to worry about getting high or potentially failing a drug test.
Each vape pen contains a total of 0.5 grams (500mg) of pure CBD oil. Therefore, you should get 20 days’ worth of use if you use 25mg of CBD a day. If you have chronic pain, you may need up to 50mg a day, which equates to 10 days of CBD per pen. If you use two pens a month, you’re paying $40, which is extremely reasonable by the standards of the CBD market.
Ignite CBD Disposable Vape: Tried and Tested
First and foremost, the professional delivery service really impressed us. Pens are shipped via FedEx, and Ignite promises to deliver within 5-7 working days; we received ours in five working days.
We received a text message and email when the company shipped the pens dispatched them, and again when the pens were out for delivery from the local post office. In other words, Ignite has followed Amazon’s tried and trusted model.
We tried the Spearmint vape pen first, which was the Cannabis Cup winner.
It is extremely easy to use; just take the pen out of its sleek packaging and have a puff.
The spearmint flavored pen tastes refreshing, like a breath mint, but still does not feel too overwhelming for the senses. We were delighted to discover how easy it was to take a hit. A nice gentle pull is all you need, and the hit is very noticeable. Ignite recommends having one or two 3 second puffs of their disposable vapes.
This particular pen is from the ‘Lucid’ stable, and we felt relaxed but it didn’t cause sleepiness or drowsiness as some CBD products can do. We also tried the Blood Orange flavored pen and found the taste to be quite distinct but in a pleasant manner. Blood orange isn’t a typical flavor you’d expect from CBD products, so it was nice to mix things up a bit.
Next up was the bubble gum option, which they call ‘Pink Chill.’ As the name implies, it is designed to chill you out and relax you, especially during stressful moments. Once again, the flavor was fantastic and offered such a smooth draw. We felt that the Pink Chill option was our favorite, but we could see how it potentially wouldn’t appeal for those who prefer less sweet tastes.
Review of Ignite CBD Drops
Another product in the Ignite range is its CBD drops. These are the classic CBD oil tinctures offered in four flavors: Blood Orange, Tropical Fruit, Lavender, and Unflavored. Each bottle contains 350mg or 1000mg of hemp-derived CBD oil in 30ml of liquid. They cost $22 or $45, respectively.
You also receive a 1ml dropper which has helpful markings in 0.25ml increments for precise dosing. A full dropper of the 1000mg oil is the equivalent of 33.33mg of CBD.
As well as containing industrial hemp oil, MCT, and terpenes, these drops also include Stevia amongst their ingredients, which explains the sweeter taste.
Once again, there is little doubt as to the quality of the oil, although it isn’t technically certified organic. This, however, might not matter to some. Although we found that the drops don’t work as quickly as the vape pens, they are an excellent option if you don’t vape and would prefer to administer your CBD dose orally or onto the skin.
Final Thoughts on Ignite CBD
For all of Bilzerian’s partying, he is a serious businessman, and this is a serious brand. Everything about Ignite CBD screams sleek: From the professionally packaged products to the standard of delivery, the ease of use, the smoothness of the vaping experience, the delicate tastes, the consistent branding, and finally, the obvious positive impact. Ignite CBD is definitely doing something right.
An aspect, however, that might be unappealing to those searching for CBD products, is the arguably excessive amount of press and publicity that are pushing the Ignite brand forward. It’s no secret that big money is backing the Ignite brand and their marketing style sports more of a youthful, LA-style glam, which simply might not be down-to-earth enough for some CBD and cannabis consumers.
Additionally, their oils lack the earthy, hemp terpene flavor that truly appeals to some individuals and their CBD products don’t appear to be made from organic hemp. For some, the more subtle CBD flavor could be a plus, so it really just depends upon the individual. All in all, while the Ignite brand would definitely appeal to many, particularly younger audiences, it just might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
That’s not to say, though, that their products aren’t of high quality. Their flavors are tasty and rather unique (we’ve tried them) and their products contain well-sourced CBD, which is why we’ve awarded the brand a 7/10.
Final Verdict – 7/10
