It’s not often that a CBD company comes along that really, really knows their stuff. Five CBD products are made with an interesting (and admittedly novel) 5:1 CBD formulation. This means their products contain five parts CBD to every one part “minor cannabinoids” (we’ll explain later exactly what this means).

Five CBD: Product Guide

As we said, Five CBD doesn’t offer a ton of different products. They primarily stick to the basics, which means CBD oil, CBD gummies, and CBD capsules. We were kind of surprised that they didn’t offer any CBD topical or vape products, but this may very well change shortly if the brand continues to grow and become more popular.

To appease customer satisfaction, all Five CBD products are CGMP (Certified Current Good Manufacturing Practice) and U.S. Hemp Authority-Certified, as well as third-party lab tested. In other words, these products are about as natural, effective, and authentic as CBD products get.

Five CBD Gummies

We tried three different products in the Five CBD gummies range: the 10mg Delta 8 Gummies (which appear to no longer be available), the “Daily Buzz” 50mg Full-Spectrum CBD Gummies, and the Multi-flavored Original Strength Full-Spectrum Sleep Gummies, which contain 25mg of CBD along with 3mg of melatonin.

One interesting thing to note is that the Delta 8 Gummies seem to no longer be available from Five CBD. Delta 8 is an analog of the THC compound, and for a brief period, many companies were offering “D8” products to great popular appeal. However, most likely due to legal uncertainties, few CBD brands are continuing to offer delta 8 products.

We did, however, absolutely love the other Five CBD Gummies that we tried. The melatonin-infused Sleep Gummies work incredibly well when taken about an hour before bed, and they taste wonderful.

We also enjoyed the 50mg (that’s a lot for CBD gummies, by the way) “Daily Buzz” chews, though we didn’t really notice a tremendous energy boost. At a price range of $39.99-$59.99, however, these represent tremendous value.

Five CBD Oils

In our opinion, the full-spectrum Five CBD Oil products are where the company truly shines. These oils come in three different milligram strengths (1500mg, 3000mg, and 6000mg), as well as three different flavors (Citrus, Mint Chocolate, and Lavender).

We tried the 3000mg (Extra Strength) formula in both 30mL Citrus and Mint Chocolate. Both flavors actually tasted really good, but if we had to order again, we’d probably go with the Citrus.

One key thing to note about Five CBD Oils (and indeed all Five CBD products), is that they may contain a higher THC content than other hemp-derived CBD products. For example, THC levels in the brand’s line of full-spectrum tinctures can range from 60mg, all the way up to 115mg.

This certainly isn’t a bad thing. Due to a phenomenon known as the entourage effect, most agree that CBD oil is far more effective for a variety of uses when combined with other natural hemp compounds, rather than by itself.

The 5:1 Formulation of Five CBD Hemp Products

It is in the brand’s novel formulation technique that one can likely explain the enhanced effectiveness of Five CBD oils, compared to other brands. Whereas a lot of companies isolate the CBD compound to achieve a seemingly “more potent” product, it’s actually the reverse that’s true.

In other words, CBD is actually more effective and more potent when in the presence of other hemp phytocompounds (cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, etc), compared to when it’s infused into an oil by itself (CBD isolate oil).

The 5:1 ratio simply means that the products are formulated using five parts CBD, to every one part “minor cannabinoids.”

What Are “Minor Cannabinoids”?

THC and CBD are the major cannabinoids present in hemp and cannabis – they’re the ones that mostly get all the love and attention. However, there are hundreds of other cannabinoids in hemp that play a varying significance in terms of the effectiveness of CBD oil in the human body.

These minor cannabinoids include compounds like CBD-V, CBC, CBG, and so on. Five CBD places great emphasis on the presence of these other compounds, and for good reason – without them, CBD poses just a fraction of its full therapeutic effect.

In short, if you use a Five CBD oil (or their gummies or capsules), you’re getting an authentic, complete CBD experience. Or, as the brand itself likes to call it, a “fully-powered, full-spectrum” CBD experience.

The Verdict: Are They Worth It?

Simply put, yes — absolutely. Five CBD offers tremendously high-quality hemp-derived CBD products, which, quite simply, are head and shoulders above many other brands we’ve tried in terms of quality.

These products are all-natural and are made right here in the USA from U.S. grown hemp. The brand also places big emphasis on transparency, which is huge in today’s loosely regulated market. Potential buyers can go online to the Five CBD website, and browse third-party lab reports (Certificates of Analysis) for each product.
