  • Grater (juicer will also work)
  • Cutting board
  • Digital scale

How to Make Kratom Tea

Without further ado, here’s our step-by-step kratom tea recipe:

Step 1: Slice the lemon in half. Squeeze out as much juice as possible from each half into a small glass bowl. Using a cutting board, slice the remainder of the lemon into small (~1cm) pieces.

Step 2: Shred/grate one piece of raw ginger (approx. 2-inch piece).

Step 3: Measure out the dose of kratom powder (This will vary from individual to individual – if this is your first time using kratom, it is not recommended to use more than 2,000mg (2 grams) of powder. Experienced kratom users can use their standard dose.)


Step 4: Measure out 1 tablespoon of honey (sugar, stevia, or other sweeteners can be used as a substitute).

Step 5: Bring four cups of water to a boil in the saucepan (more or less water can be used; less will produce a more bitter flavor, while more will produce a more dilute tea).

Step 6: After the water has started to boil, turn the heat to low and let sit for 30-45 seconds.

Step 7: Add all of the ingredients (grated ginger, lemon juice, lemon slices, kratom powder, honey) into the hot water in the saucepan. Stir thoroughly.

Step 8: Increase the heat to just below boiling, and let brew for approximately 10 minutes. Intermittent stirring is optional.

Step 9: Turn off heat, and pour the entire contents of the saucepan through a wire mesh strainer and into a clean bowl.

Step 10: Let cool to desired temperature, and enjoy! (Make sure to drink the entire cup of tea in order to get the complete kratom dose.)

How to Make Kratom Tea with Powder (If You’re Not a Fan of Lemon & Ginger)

In the rare event you’re not a fan of lemon, ginger, and/or honey, there’s actually another super simple way to make effective kratom powder tea.

Simply heat some water in a pot, kettle, or microwave, measure out your desired amount of kratom powder (see below references on milligram dosing), and mix! The taste will be borderline unbearable, but the crude tea will be effective in terms of delivering kratom’s active ingredients to your system.
