The HuGG Co. is a new CBD brand which aims to promote self-care through the benefits of cannabidiol. Based in the UK, they offer a range of CBD self-care products ranging from bath salts to coffee.

Here at WayofLeaf, we’re big on self-care, too. That’s why we were so thrilled to receive some of HuGG’s top products to try out. Read on to find out how the brand stood up to our review process. Does it compare to other, more established brands, or is it just the latest in a long line of CBD fads? Here’s all you need to know.

Who is the HuGG Co.?

The HuGG Co.’s home page greets you with the words “It’s Ok to just be U” and “Beauty starts from within.” This seems to sum up the brand’s ethos nicely: CBD can become an enjoyable part of your daily health and beauty routine rather than just a run-of-the-mill supplement.

Unfortunately, other than this, there is very little information about the origins of the HuGG Co. on its website. While this is probably not a big deal to most customers, here at WayofLeaf, we always like to know a little bit about how a new CBD company came about and what they stand for. With so many brands on the market nowadays, a bit of backstory can really add credibility and help to inform your choices.

Anyhow, what we do know about HuGG is that they are affiliated with CiiTECH. This international company aims to bring cutting-edge CBD research and technology from Israel to the UK market. CiiTECH is well-respected within the industry, and this alone gives HuGG something of an advantage when compared to other brands.

The company is also a member of the Cannabis Trades Association, which aims to develop the industry through research and best practice. Despite the little information about the brand on its website, HuGG is affiliated with some well-established CBD organizations, and that is undoubtedly a good sign. So, how do their products compare?

HuGG CBD Products

There is a good variety of products available on the HuGG website. However, while most brands showcase their CBD oils as flagship products, HuGG has taken a slightly different approach. They are clearly gearing more toward the health and beauty market, and many of their items would be more at home in a luxury spa than a medicine cabinet.

That said, the brand does offer two CBD oil options alongside their other products. Let’s take a look at some of HuGG’s top sellers and how they stack up.

HuGG CBD Oil

The HuGG Co. stock two different strengths of CBD oil, 350mg and 1400mg. These are full-spectrum products, created using CO2 extraction, one of the most effective ways of manufacturing CBD oil. The only other ingredient in the oil is MCT oil, so you can be sure that these products are 100% natural and additive-free.

HuGG’s CBD oils are lab tested, and these results are available upon request; another sign that the brand is confident in the quality of its products. One thing that we really liked was that the full cannabinoid content of the oils is listed in the website’s FAQs section. This is quite unusual but is great news for anyone who likes to know exactly what they are putting into their body.

Alongside a healthy dose of CBD, the oil contains:

Many cannabis scientists believe that consuming a full-spectrum of cannabinoids improves their efficacy. This phenomenon is generally known as the ‘entourage effect.’ Furthermore, the lesser-known cannabinoids may have additional health benefits of their own. Click on the links to find out more.

The HuGG CBD oil itself is quite pale compared to some other brands we’ve reviewed and has a very subtle flavor. If you dislike the taste of CBD, you will probably find this more manageable as it’s not too strong. This is a definite plus since the oils are not available in any additional flavors.

Each bottle contains 10ml of oil. This amount should be enough for around a month if you follow the dosage recommendation of 2–3 drops, 2–3 times a day. The oil should be kept under the tongue and allowed to absorb for at least 30 seconds. Further dosing recommendations can be found in the FAQs, which is another nice touch that many other companies overlook.

All in all, the oil appears to be of high-quality. We also loved that there is so much information about it on the site, albeit in the FAQs rather than the product page.

  • HuGG CBD Oil 350mg – £24.99/10ml
  • HuGG CBD Oil 1400mg – £68.99/10ml

HuGG CBD-Infused Coffee

One of the other products we were lucky enough to try was HuGG’s CBD-infused coffee. The product is made from Italian espresso coffee beans, ground with Felina 32 hemp. You can spot the little green flecks among the grounds, which is reassuring. Each pack contains 100g of coffee, infused with 490mg of hemp. The company suggests that this product is a great way to kick start your day or spice up your coffee break.

The brand also stocks a ‘HuGG mug’ French press, which is portable and would be ideal for morning use. If you don’t have time to wait for your coffee to brew AND drink it, you can simply screw on the cap and take it with you.

The coffee itself has a pleasant, almost nutty flavor. We made ours quite weak, but you can just add more if you would prefer a stronger brew. You can drink it straight, but adding a little full-fat milk or a dab of coconut oil may help with the CBD absorption. Cannabinoids are soluble in fat and, therefore, you may experience more benefits if you consume the two together.

HuGG CBD-Infused Tea

If you prefer your CBD beverages caffeine-free, then HuGG also offers an infused fruit tea. Alongside Felina 32 hemp, it contains 60% dried fruit including raspberries, wild strawberries, hibiscus, rose peel, raisins, and chokeberries. The only other ingredient is natural flavorings. Each 50g contains 260mg of CBD.

The tea can be brewed in the HuGG mug or any other tea infuser. It has a vibrant, red color and a slightly tart taste from the berries. Although the raisins add a little extra sweetness, if you’ve got a real sweet tooth, you might also want to add a spoon of honey.

Again, it might be more beneficial to drink this with a small portion of healthy fat to maximize CBD absorption. Although we wouldn’t recommend milk in this case, a dab of coconut oil won’t detract too much from the flavor.

Overall, a tasty product with a really refreshing feel. Although it can be enjoyed hot or cold, we think it works well over ice as a cooler for hot summer days.

The HuGG Co. Other Products

The majority of HuGG’s other products fit firmly into the CBD skincare category. We didn’t get to test any of them out, but they look to be as high-quality as the brand’s other offerings. The pricing is also quite competitive compared with other, similar brands.

How to Purchase HuGG CBD

You can purchase HuGG products from their official website. For UK customers, items ordered before noon should be processed the same day and sent out by Royal Mail 24 or 48 hour Tracked and Signed. Shipping is free on orders over £100.

Customers outside the UK (excluding the Republic of Ireland) will receive their orders via DHL Express. Charges are dependent on your country and will be displayed on Checkout.

The company offers a 30-day refund policy, but all returns must be unopened and sealed in original packaging. While this means you won’t be able to return products you are unhappy with, it is pretty standard practice so we can’t argue too much.

The HuGG Co. CBD: Final Verdict

The HuGG Co. is a solid CBD brand and an excellent option for anyone looking to purchase skincare or lifestyle items. However, if you’re looking for CBD oil, there isn’t a massive amount of choice. That said, the oils that they do offer are of high quality and taste better than many others on the market. Furthermore, being powered by CiiTECH, HuGG already has a distinct advantage over many other CBD brands in the UK.

There is a good deal of information on the products on the website, but not a lot about the company itself. We would have liked to know more, but understand that most customers will be less bothered by this. It does look as if the site is still under development, so more information may well be added soon.

Although this is a new company, we were suitably impressed and believe they have the potential to grow and grow. We hope to see much more from HuGG in the future.
