With very mild side effects and lack of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC, people have begun turning to CBD for its wide array of benefits.
But just as CBD has grown tremendously in popularity amongst consumers and the general population, it has also grown tremendously popular amongst entrepreneurs and businesses as well. The CBD industry is getting so popular that it is estimated to be worth around 22 billion dollars. That’s a lot!
So how do you know if you’re truly getting top quality or just something to line the pockets of another startup CBD company? Well, that’s why we’re here to help. In this review, we’ll be taking a look at Black Tie CBD to give you all you need to know about this Oregon-based CBD company.
Who Are Black Tie?
Black Tie is a CBD company based out of Myrtle Creek, Oregon. All of the company’s hemp is grown from a single source – the Umpqua River Valley. It produces medicinal strains of hemp with a high CBD content, CBD oils, and also concentrates and extracts.
There isn’t much information about Black Tie in general, either through a Google search or on their actual website. The ‘About Us’ section doesn’t say anything about its origins or founders, or even about its background history. There is only a short section which talks about their hemp and its origins.
Black Tie CBD: Key Features
Despite the lack of information about its origins or history, Black Tie does offer the lab reports for its products on its website, so that was a plus. The site also seems to be a bit of a reseller in addition to selling its own products. Black Tie’s website has a ton of products and the majority of them aren’t even Black Tie brand.
It looks like this brand is a bit like a grocery store that has its own flagship brand but also sells other brands as well. This isn’t common for a CBD company to do this, or any company that is trying to sell the most of its products for that matter. But hey, if that means more selection from a single website instead of going to every brand individually, then it ultimately means less work for the customer.
If you don’t know how you’re going to like a CBD product or are new to CBD, though, Black Tie doesn’t have a very good return policy. It currently only offers a 15-day return policy, and the product must be returned exactly as you received it. It cannot be opened or tampered with, most likely because Black Tie will just put it back on the shelves after the return is processed. So basically, the only returns they accept are the ‘buyer’s remorse’ returns or those who simply changed their minds. If you try it, you buy it! We weren’t too crazy about this feature.
Review of Black Tie Hemp Flowers
Although Black Tie has many brands featured on their online shop, we were just interested in seeing the actual Black Tie flagship products (as this is a Black Tie review). The most popular item seems to be the industrial hemp flower. All of the Black Tie hemp buds are under .3% THC, so they are definitely safe for use as a medicinal strain as there are just trace amounts of THC.

The hemp flowers run in price from between $8 to 9 starting price for 1 gram. You can buy larger amounts of some strains, allowing for significant savings.
All the buds have high CBD content, so they’re great for anyone wishing for a more medicinal effect. Most of the buds have a sufficient amount of reviews, and the majority of them are really good. Unfortunately, though, when we checked the site, many of the hemp buds were unavailable.
There are also absolutely no returns on any bud for any reason, so you take this gamble when you buy hemp flowers from Black Tie. It doesn’t seem like anyone has had any problems with them. Just be sure the strain you order is the one you want because Black Tie won’t let you swap it out (and for understandable reasons).
Review of Black Tie Tinctures
In addition to the hemp flowers, Black Tie also sells a CBD tincture. It offers three different potencies; the largest size/potency being 1200 mg. It is available in four different flavors:
- Original Terpenes
- Orange Citrus
- Lemon Ginger
- Espresso
Each bottle is between $22.49 (for 300 mg) and $74.99 (1200 mg), so they’re a bit on the pricey side. There is also no option or ability to return once it’s opened. So think carefully and make sure this is what you want before you commit to purchasing.
The tinctures are all full spectrum, so you’re going to be getting all those other wonderful cannabinoids and terpenes for the full effect. They also use medium-chain triglycerides, so the cannabinoids will be absorbed into your system as efficiently as possible to ensure that none goes to waste or simply isn’t metabolized by your body.
There aren’t many reviews for the tinctures, so we really just don’t have an idea of how popular or effective they are.
What About Black Tie’s Other Products?
In addition to the hemp flowers and the tinctures, Black Tie has many other products for sale on the website, such as vape cartridges and pen batteries, CBD Isolate (there is also a CBG isolate, which is a nice touch), t-shirts, Herbal Tablets of CBD, and Afghani CBD Hash.
The Afghani CBD Hash was one that especially caught our eye. It was a striking black color and looked a bit like onyx. And upon reading more, we found that it has a whopping 41.96% CBD content. As stated on the website, it is said to have a nearly narcotic effect on the user to provide an extremely relaxed feeling. It starts kicking in within 2-3 minutes as well, so it’s pretty damn quick. The Afghani Hash is sold as 1 gram for $27.99.
Besides these Black Tie brand products, the official site also offers many other brands’ products.
Despite there being a minimal amount of product variety amongst the Black Tie line, the company at least goes out of its way to make up for the lack of selection in its own brand by offering many products from other companies in replacement.
Where Can I Purchase Black Tie Products?
There is a customer service hotline and email, so if you have any questions or concerns, you can reach them there.
As mentioned before, Black Tie simply doesn’t offer a very flexible return policy. It’s only a very strict 15-day guarantee, and the product cannot be opened or tried out if you want to return it.
The brand currently ships only domestically in the U.S. Your order will be shipped in roughly 2 days after you submit the order. Delivery time is approximately 3-7 days, but this is dependent on the shipping method you choose. Seven days is the max if you select the base shipping method, and rush shipping will get you your package the quickest, usually within 3-4 days.
Final Thoughts on Black Tie CBD
Black Tie is a bit of a newbie in the CBD market it would appear. We don’t have a lot of information about it because there is barely anything on their website. Also, it doesn’t really have a lot of its own products to choose from, but Black Tie does offer many products from other companies in spheres that they themselves lack.
The company does offer lab testing results on its website for the Black Tie brand products that are sold, so that is at least a plus. But it’s up to the consumer to research the other brands and their purity and quality if making a non-Black Tie purchase from the website.
Overall, Black Tie is a bit expensive and doesn’t exactly have the proof to warrant such prices, either through many customer reviews or a huge fanbase on social media. The products may be of excellent quality, but without the recognition, there isn’t really a way to gauge that.
